Composite bonding is a dental procedure where we apply a tooth-coloured composite resin to one or more of your teeth to repair damage. It's a cost-effective solution because it's considerably less expensive than other cosmetic dental procedures, such as crowns and veneers.
Does it look natural?
Yes, composite teeth bonding looks 100% natural. The material is tinted to match the color of the patient's existing teeth to ensure that it blends in with the smile. Every cosmetic procedure done in our practice is done with the utmost care to ensure that seamless integration is achieved.
What if I get my teeth whitened?
You may be concerned that if you have your teeth whitened in the future, the composite bonding will no longer match your teeth. Even though bonding material does not respond to whitening material as teeth do, there is a simple solution. We would just replace the bonding material at the same time or within a week or two of whitening your teeth. It is easy to replace composite bonding on the teeth and combining treatments will ensure that the composite matches the new shade of your teeth.
Does it hurt?
No. Typically, dental bonding does not hurt. The area of the tooth we work on during the procedure has little to no sensitivity, so composite bonding doesn't usually require anaesthesia.
What’s the recovery time?
The good news is there is no recovery time after composite bonding treatment. However, we advise that you avoid smoking cigarettes (just generally!) as well as consuming tea, coffee, red wine, and other beverages and foods that might stain your teeth for at least 48 hours after your procedure.
